Scandinavia 2008
On the occasion of the 2008 Scandinavia tour
[…] a sparkling display of music, singing and dancing. This year, as in previous years, the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna had a guest performance. Solo vocalists and dancers took the stage and it was, as I mentioned before, a wonderful evening with a truly Viennese atmosphere […] Johann Strauss masterfully translated the Viennese's kindness and their lively sense of humor into music. He was the great genius of the Viennese waltz. The Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna, a chamber orchestra, does a great job at conjuring up this spirit while adding a joyful twist. The orchestra delighted the audience with unforgettable melodies, including the polka mazurka "Fata Morgana" and the czardas from the operetta "The Bat", both composed by Johann Strauss the Younger. This musical experience was heightened by the excellent performance of a group of dancers wearing beautiful, impressively flowing costumes and, last but not least, the young dancers. […] This glamorous performance will be a great memory to take us through the entire year.

This year, the dancing couple Moza brought along five children who train at their ballet school, the youngest girl being a true ray of sunshine. She was incredibly charming. Her dance performance complemented the two adults' performance to perfection. […] There is no doubt that the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna will come to Gävle in the future. And we will welcome them with open arms.

The conductor, Mika Eichenholz, guided his orchestra through the evening with a sure hand. [...] Fantastic playing by the orchestra. Fabulous musicians - 30 men and women - and an enthusiastic conductor! We had the privilege of enjoying many fantastic works of music.
